The Reading SD seeks a senior high school principal who is committed to students and their success. The senior high school is an urban Title I school and enrolls over 3,500 students. Students come to Reading Senior High from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Twenty-five percent of the district’s students are English Language Learners.

Position Title: Building Principal – Reading High School

Reports To: Assistant Superintendent
Supervises: Administrative, professional, and support staff
Position Goal: To provide leadership and direction for the building’s instructional program to ensure fair and consistent application of policies, regulations, and procedures and ensure the academic success of all students served.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Appropriate Master’s Degree required; Minimum five years teaching experience preferred (also preferred at applicable grade level). Three (3) years building level or related supervisory/administrator experience required. Demonstrated leadership ability and knowledge in instructional best practices is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Teaching Certificate, PA Administrative Certification – K-12 Principal (or appropriate level K-6 or 7-12 Principal Certification)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full-time (12-month) exempt position. Salary and benefits consistent with the District’s approved Compensation and Benefits Plan and/or Act 93 Agreement.
