The Board of Education of Atlanta Public Schools (APS) seeks an experienced and community-minded educational leader with excellent communication and management skills. The APS Board wants to find a professional who has demonstrated success in closing achievement gaps and helping every student succeed.
Atlanta Public Schools one of the largest school districts in the state of Georgia, serving approximately 52,000 students across 89 schools. The district is organized into nine K-12 clusters with 61 neighborhood schools, five partner schools, 18 charter schools, two citywide single-gender academies, three alternative schools and four alternative programs.
Graduation rates, student achievement and college matriculation have been improving every year. Strong community support and involvement remain a hallmark of APS.

The Board of Education hopes to name the new superintendent by late spring, with a start date of July 1, 2020. Ability to be licensed as a superintendent in Georgia is required.
