Job Description

HYA is assisting the U-46 SCHOOL DISTRICT as it seeks an individual who has demonstrated successful leadership within a similarly diverse school district. The District has approximately 36,000 students from 11 different communities, housed in over 53 school and program facilities, led and supported by a staff of approximately 5,000.   It is expected that a regionally competitive compensation package will be offered.

The Board has determined that at this point the position will be only open to internal candidates.  The Board recently accepted Superintendent Tony Sanders’ resignation as he accepted the position as the State Superintendent of Schools in the state of Illinois after working for the last 15 years in U-46, including the last nine as superintendent.

Deputy Superintendent, Suzanne Johnson, has been named as Interim Superintendent. The new superintendent will begin on July 1, 2023.
