The Community

The district proudly serves the communities of Antelope, Dry Creek and Roseville in Northern California. A short drive will take you to the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills, Folsom Lake, California’s Gold Country. skiing, wine tasting, hiking, rafting, and a visit to San Francisco or Lake Tahoe, are all within an easy day trip. Yosemite is four hours away. Enjoy more than 80 parks and recreation facilities, and more than 35 miles of paved off-street trails winding through beautiful open space preserves. The climate is ideal for year-round outdoor activities. Summers are warm, dry, and predictable with high temperatures averaging in the low 90s. The Position

The Board of Trustees of Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District invite qualified leaders committed to building a community of learners where all students are challenged to meet their full potential socially, emotionally, and academically to apply. The Board has prioritized safe and secure school environments where effective educational programs and instructional practices meet the diverse needs and interests of all students and families. In representing the district, the new superintendent will become an integral part of all the three communities, promote unity, focus collective efforts on strategic goals, and build upon existing community partnerships to enrich learning opportunities and maximize community support. The superintendent is also responsible for oversight of all district operations, including the efficient use of all district facilities and funding to support desired learning outcomes.

Selection Criteria

The following criteria represent standards to be used in the evaluation of applications in the selection process in addition to desired qualities and characteristics our search firm, HYA, will identify through a stakeholder engagement process resulting in a Leadership Profile Report (LPR). The LPR will be presented to the Board and posted to the district’s website following the engagement phase of the search process in early May.

Professional Experience and Preparation

Qualities and Qualifications

  • Classroom teaching experience; K-8 preferred
  • Site administrator experience preferred
  • District office administrator experience preferred
  • Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred
  • Possess a CA Clear Administrative Services Credential; OR a willingness to obtain this via route 3 for applicants outside of CA
  • Experience working with a Board of Trustees

 

  • A demonstrated history of responsive and transparent customer service as a leader
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • A servant leader skilled in building strong cohesive teams and a collaborative leadership culture
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including transparent and respectful interactions with students, staff, families, and community members
  • Demonstrated exemplary communication skills in listening, speaking, and writing
  • Models high standards of professional and ethical behaviors at all times and operates consistently with integrity and transparency

Contract/Compensation

The Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District Board of Trustees will negotiate a competitive salary and benefit package with the selected candidate based upon experience and qualifications. The board intends to offer a multi-year contract. It is the candidate’s responsibility to provide the district with employment eligibility and verification of citizenship in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
