Biography of Brenda P. Seals, PhD

Dr. Brenda Seals’ educational experiences span 38+ years, working in several states. Her professional assignments include serving as an elementary and middle school principal and retiring as an assistant superintendent of human capital for a mid-size school district.  During her tenure, she was a national and international presenter on trending human resources topics.  After retirement, she worked as a Principal Partner mentoring the high school principals of the lowest performing high schools in the District of Columbia Public Schools.  Additionally, she performed consultant services that included training in cultural differences, developing leadership skills, and strengthening the teaching of literacy skills.  Other repertoire of skills developed during her career include the facilitation of curriculum development, data-driven decision making, developing strategic plans, auditing human resources departments, and creating a district-wide succession management plan.   During her career, Dr. Seals served as an adjunct professor of graduate studies at three different universities.  She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, a master’s degree in school administration with certification as a reading specialist from Texas Southern University, and a Ph.D. in Urban Studies with a concentration in Education Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
