Catherine is a proven educational leader with expertise in strategic planning, curriculum development, teacher evaluation, administrator evaluation, professional learning communities, board relations, and professional development. With over 40 years of experience in education, Catherine has served as superintendent of schools, assistant superintendent for instruction, middle school principal, special education administrator, special education teacher, and general education teacher.
As superintendent of schools, Catherine led a systemic change process that resulted in a comprehensive strategic plan, the establishment of professional learning communities, implementation of instructional best practices, and improved board-teacher-administration relations. A skilled professional developer and expert in the evaluation of teachers and administrators, Catherine co-authored the Illinois teacher evaluator retraining academies that qualify school administrators to continue to evaluate certified staff. She continues to conduct retraining academies for teacher and administrator evaluators, and has served as a principal and superintendent mentor.
