Dr. Kim Suedbeck has been an educator since 1984.  Her roots began as a Special Education teacher where she has had extensive experience with curriculum development and modification with students at every ability level.  Her administrative career started in 1990 as an Assistant Principal, which lasted five years. As her family grew, she went back to the classroom for another ten years, and in 2005 her administrative experience continued as a Special Education supervisor, Associate Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent.

Dr. Suedbeck’s extensive expertise in education has been instrumental in changing instructional practices in schools.  She is passionate about teaching practices that ensure all students at all ability levels receive the highest quality education that will enable them to reach their highest potential.

Her work with administrative teams is exceptional.  She brings them together to make the collaborative decisions needed to move districts forward through their strategic planning process.  Dr. Suedbeck sees education as a calling and influence people’s lives in her work and in how she lives her life.

Currently, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Northern Illinois University, where she teaches in the Curriculum and Instruction department. Other professional roles include being the Professional Development Coordinator for the Kishwaukee Region for Illinois Association of School Administrators and adjunct professor for Aurora University.  She has been trained and holds certification in Cambrian (formerly The Cambridge Group) as an Internal Facilitator of Strategic Planning, Myers-Briggs Personality Indicators, coaching, and grant writing. Dr. Suedbeck has facilitated strategic planning for schools and various not-for-profit organizations, as well as conducted numerous seminars on leadership, teaching and learning, and grant writing. Additionally, she uses her experience to develop regional and statewide partnerships to coordinate services for students and staff. In her spare time, she is a fine art photographer and loves telling a story through her photos.
