Lynn M. Gibson, Ed.D., CSBO, is a retired superintendent of the Hononegah Community High School District 207 located in Northern Illinois. She was in the district for 13 years, as a grant writer, assistant superintendent, and superintendent.

Administrators in the district say this about Lynn:

Lynn is a leader among leaders. She selfishly gives her time and talent to grow the talent in our school and in our community. Other administrators look to her for guidance and she is never too busy to help. She is a strong instructional leader and understands the finances just as well. She gives back to the educational and civic organizations in the form of time, money and talent. She is one of the most caring and compassionate people one will ever meet, yet her tenacity to get things done is remarkable. She commands respect everywhere she goes, but I have never seen her boast. She uses “we” and “us even when describing something she has done entirely by herself. She has handled many crises with grace and ease…nothing rattles her. She is a lighthouse in a storm.

Lynn is a professor at Northern Illinois University and is a graduate of the IASA School for Advanced Leadership. She is a strong believer in strategic planning for school districts, and promotes the concept of passionately protesting mediocrity in education. She is trained in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, strategic planning, and grant writing. She has published various articles in regional and national magazines. Lynn is currently writing a young adult novel with two of her six children. She and her family live in Rockford, IL.
