Dr. Marcus Hughes is a scholar on a mission for ALL children and life-long learners. Dr. Hughes credits his strength from his family. The concept of village is the main component in his philosophy of life and education. One of his many objectives in life is to use progressive curriculums and technology to augment the entire learning community.
In May 1993, Dr. Hughes earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Trinity Christian College.
In August 2001, He earned two certifications as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and an A+ Certified Service Technician (hardware/software specialist).
His master’s degree in Cultural Education & Policy Studies was earned in 2004 and doctorate was concurred on April 19, 2006.
He later earned two more degrees in Special Education and Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University in 2010 and 2013.
Dr. Hughes has worked with institutions such as Argonne National Laboratory, The Smithsonian Institute, The Library of Congress, Baxter Laboratories and University of Chicago. He has conducted educational research (distance learning projects) in the West Indies (Santo Domingo, Santiago, Haiti), Italy (Roma, Florence), Mexico, and throughout the Caribbean Islands.
Presently, Dr. Hughes-Bey is an instructor at DePaul University and CEO of Education & Technology Consulting, Inc., while offering services to the community.
