Again, Dr. James was a first, that is, the first African-American serving in the capacity of a district administrator in the Pocono Mountain School District. He retired a second time from the state of Pennsylvania in July 2012. Dr. James decided that he would rather continue helping young people, instead of relaxing in his easy chair, by becoming an adjunct professor at William Paterson University Wayne, New Jersey. He presently holes two positions: supervisor of student teachers and practicum students and field supervisor for teacher candidates who want to become administrators in the
Paterson Public School District. He is also a consultant for HYA/ECRA consulting firm, which deals mainly with superintendent searches for school districts throughout the United States Dr. James has made a tremendous impact on the lives of thousands of young people throughout his 43 years in the field of education. He has worked hard to improve the quality of life on a daily basis while providing safe institutions for learning. Educators under his leadership have been able to prepare students for the challenges of higher education at county, state, private, and Ivy League schools. Dr. James believes that setting goals, being a positive role model for young people ,and the grace of the Almighty has made him the educator that he
continues to be today.

Dr. James is married to the former Ms. Joan Allen… with this union, they have three adult children, six grandchildren, and two great granddaughters. His favorite pastime is listening to R&B music, sports appreciation, and spending time with his growing family.
