Dr. Sharon Frys is an experienced professional specializing in day-to-day school administration and implementation of initiatives to support students, community, and educator development. Her career includes teaching special education and at the administrative level serving as coordinator, director and assistant superintendent.

As assistant superintendent, Dr. Frys’ responsibilities included instruction, student services, special education and continuous improvement. During her tenure, Dr. Frys initiated, developed, and supported instruction and continuous improvement plans to drive professional development of educators in all departments and educational sectors. Dr. Frys initiated programs to address issues of concern such as crisis planning, bullying, social / emotional learning, and licensed teacher evaluations based on Danielson Framework for Teaching. Frys worked with teachers and leaders on the professional growth component of the evaluation process. Frys compiled and submitted grants at the state and federal levels and is qualified and experienced in Illinois principal and teacher evaluation. Frys has established and developed coalitions with several community agencies focused on reduction of bullying and building character, and provided support for pre-school children, Birth to Three.

Dr. Frys has participated in the development of district strategic planning and facilitated school improvement plans, as well as educational and support departments’ strategic plans. She facilitated quality improvement within her district and is a trained examiner for the Baldrige/Illinois Performance Excellence program. Dr. Frys accelerated the development of quality assurance processes to ensure consistent practices among all district schools and has participated on system assessments in various districts and schools.

Frys was a district coach for the Illinois Center for School of Improvement at American Institutes for Research where she provided the coordination of the Statewide System of Support to ensure that districts received expert, timely and relevant assistance with an emphasis on closing achievement gaps and raising achievement. Currently, Sharon Frys facilitates professional development and supports school improvement for the Regional Office of Education in DuPage County, Illinois.
