The Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW) announced the hiring of Latisha Dorsey as Director of Operations for the all-girls college preparatory public charter school. The Baltimore, Maryland school serves more than 500 young women in grades 6-12.
Dorsey has over 15 years of experience in operations and program management in Maryland public schools, including work in Baltimore County and Howard County Public Schools. The new Director of Operations also has led the conference services, logistics, and operations team at the International Youth Department of the Church of God In Christ. In her role, Dorsey managed more than 50 staff members while ensuring sustainability through fiscally responsibility and strategic leadership. As a former lead cosmetology instructor at Carver Center for Arts and Technology, Latisha Dorsey maintained a course completion rate of 100 percent.*
In Dorsey’s position with BLSYW she will lead the operations, finance, and technology departments at the public charter school that boasts a remarkable 100% college acceptance rate for seven years. Overseeing facility upgrades, annual organizational audits and streamlining standard operating procedures will be some of Ms. Dorsey’s responsibilities in her role.*

Search Consultant, Dr. Jeff Melendez enjoyed working with the CEO, Dr. Chevonne Hall-Smith as well as members of her Board. “BLYSW is a special place for students, staff, and families,” commented Melendez.
