Dr. Thomas Harwood has a broad depth of experiences working in education for over 40 years as both a school psychologist and educational administrative leader with the focus on improving the overall success of all students. In his leadership work, he has mentored several aspiring school leaders to advance their career with a foundation of skills that would improve any school organization. His thorough understanding of the unique components of special education, human resources, finances, and administrative leadership provides a strong foundation for assisting schools in aligning their overall mission and goals for strategic success.

Dr. Harwood has worked closely with several board members to facilitate a vision, mission, and strategic plan that moves the school system forward to best serve the needs of their students, their staff, and their community. He has provided consultative support to school systems to conduct an analysis of their programs and services to further identify areas of their strengths and weaknesses as an organization. He has also served as a consultant on several statewide committees to outline procedural practices that can improve the physical, emotional, and academic well-being of students.

Dr. Harwood is an active listener who can bring people together to establish a strong leadership team with the board members and administrative staff. He has the depth of knowledge to effectively and efficiently analyze the school system, assist in improving areas of concern, and collaborate with plans that can be incorporated into the future development of the school system. His consultative work would include such services as: strategic planning, special education analysis, student data analysis, board governance/relationships, teacher recruitment/retainment, and district operations. Through his many years and experiences in educational systems, he has worked to set the stage for student success, community engagement, and future positive initiatives.
