Dr. Emily Mulvihill is an educational leadership scholar and practitioner based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serving the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. She brings experience across K–12 education, higher education, educator preparation, and doctoral education, with leadership experience in public, private, charter, and online school settings. Throughout her career, Emily has served as a K–12 principal and assistant principal, university faculty member, educational leadership program leader, doctoral mentor, researcher, evaluator, and educational leadership consultant. Her work focuses on strengthening leaders, improving educational programs and systems, supporting student success, and connecting research and practice to the day-to-day realities of schools and educational organizations. She is certified in K–12 school administration, district administration, K–5 elementary education, 7–12 English, K–12 special education, and K–12 gifted education.
Throughout her career, Emily has emphasized collaboration, continuous improvement, leadership development, research-informed decision-making, and systems-level thinking. As a university educational leadership program leader, she helped grow a program from an initial cohort of three students to more than 60 students while supporting program development, assessment, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, faculty collaboration, and student success. She has advised more than 100 doctoral students and has extensive experience supporting aspiring and practicing educational leaders through leadership preparation, coaching, research, and professional learning. Her experience also includes Higher Learning Commission reaccreditation, external program review, grant evaluation, institutional effectiveness, curriculum and program development, and state-level educational initiatives. Emily brings a practitioner-scholar perspective to this work, using evidence, stakeholder perspectives, and practical leadership experience to help organizations identify challenges, develop sustainable solutions, and improve outcomes.
Emily’s consulting work focuses on educational leadership and organizational improvement, including strategic planning, leadership development and executive coaching, principal and leadership preparation, program evaluation and external review, educator preparation, curriculum and instructional improvement, research and evaluation, accreditation and institutional effectiveness, professional learning, doctoral and graduate program development, online and hybrid learning, student success, and organizational change. She is particularly interested in consulting projects that help school districts, higher education institutions, and educational organizations strengthen leadership capacity, evaluate programs and initiatives, develop effective systems, use data and research to inform decisions, and align programs and practices with organizational goals. Emily brings a combination of practical K–12 leadership experience, higher education expertise, research and evaluation skills, and a deep commitment to developing effective educational leaders.
