Dr. Sherrie Johnson is an East Coast Region-based executive leader, organizational leadership practitioner, communications strategist, educator, and executive coach with more than 20 years of professional and leadership experience. She has served in senior executive leadership roles in K–12 education, higher education, and local government, leading strategic communications, community engagement, organizational change, institutional advancement, public affairs, and leadership initiatives. Her experience includes advising senior executives, leading high-performing and cross-functional teams, strengthening relationships with employees and communities, and helping organizations build trust and navigate complex organizational environments. She also brings extensive experience as an educator, leadership trainer, facilitator, and executive coach.
Throughout her career, Dr. Johnson has championed authentic and ethical leadership, collaboration, strategic planning, transparent communication, community partnerships, and continuous organizational improvement. She has led organizational transformation and strategic communication initiatives, developed leadership and employee engagement programs, coached senior leaders, facilitated professional development, and helped organizations strengthen connections among leadership, employees, families, and community stakeholders. Her leadership approach emphasizes emotional intelligence, trust, collaboration, effective communication, and aligning organizational strategies with mission and stakeholder needs. As a scholar-practitioner, she integrates research, leadership theory, and practical executive experience to help leaders translate organizational goals into meaningful action.
Dr. Johnson’s work focus includes executive coaching, leadership development, strategic planning, strategic communications, community engagement and partnerships, organizational change, crisis communications, stakeholder engagement, executive and board communications, media training, and leadership team development. She is particularly interested in working with superintendents, boards, senior administrators, and leadership teams to strengthen leadership effectiveness, improve communication, navigate organizational change, enhance community trust, and create collaborative organizational cultures that support student and organizational success. Dr. Johnson holds a doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Organizational Development and is an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach (ACC). She is also a published author and two-time Emmy Award-winning former television journalist.
