Elaine Cappucci

Elaine holds a Master’s degree from Duke University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College. Professionally she has worked in Engineering/Environmental consulting, mainly on planning and permitting for large government projects, and she currently is the Operations and Wellness Director of the local Jewish Community Center.
Elaine served for 15 years as a School Board Director, including two as Board President and two as Board Vice-President. In addition to her Board leadership experience she has significant committee experience, having served for eight years as co-chair of the Board’s High School Project Committee, and for many years on the Board’s Policy, Revenue Generation, and Audit and Finance Committees, the Community/District Task Force on Safety, Security, and Mental Well Being. She was the Board’s legislative representative on the PA and National School Board Associations, and was a Board member of the Mt. Lebanon Foundation for Education. She co-founded the first ever School/Municipality Board to promote Environmental Sustainability in the municipality, and worked with the Superintendent to develop a student-centered approach to budgeting and with the PSBA to create a new Superintendent evaluation format for the District.
During her tenure on the School Board, Elaine was involved in two Superintendent searches. Along with her extensive experience on the Board and in project planning, she has particular insights that can help Boards through searches, board development and governance, effective communication strategies, and strategic planning.
