Dr. Janet M. Stutz holds a doctorate in education from Aurora University and has more than 38 years of experience in education serving as a teacher, athletic director, principal, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, and superintendent in Illinois and Iowa. Dr. Stutz served as an adjunct professor at the Master’s and Doctorate programs. She has recently joined HYA after retiring as a school superintendent for the last ten years.
Dr. Stutz has served communities at the state, regional, and local levels. She participated in the Area Educational Agency (AEA) advisory committee and was selected to serve on the accreditation team. She served as the President for Executive Leaders with School Administrators of Iowa and mentored new school superintendents. She played an integral role in fostering local partnerships with the “Grinnell Educational Partnership Program” and served as the Rotary President for her community. She has received many local and state recognitions in Iowa and Illinois.
Throughout her career, Dr. Stutz has participated in the planning and design of new learning environments to enhance instruction, while addressing social and emotional experiences for students. She has facilitated facility audits and engaged community members in planning for new schools and has opened new schools. Dr. Stutz has developed a process for new school facility openings that includes the participation of teachers, staff, and community members.
