HYA is proud to congratulate the Hudson City School District in New York on the successful completion of its superintendent search and the appointment of Todd B. Hilgendorff as the district’s next Superintendent.
Led by HYA Associate Kaweeda Adams, the search concluded with the Hudson City School District Board of Education selecting Hilgendorff following a comprehensive and collaborative search process designed to identify a leader who aligns with the district’s vision for the future. Hilgendorff is scheduled to officially begin serving as Superintendent on July 13, 2026.
Throughout the search, the Board remained committed to finding a superintendent with a demonstrated record of instructional leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to build strong relationships across the school community. According to district leadership, Hilgendorff distinguished himself through a rigorous interview process by demonstrating a combination of experience, passion, and a proven ability to deliver meaningful results for students and schools.
Hilgendorff brings more than two decades of experience in public education, serving in a variety of leadership roles that span classroom instruction, school administration, and district leadership. His background includes successfully guiding school improvement efforts and fostering collaborative partnerships that support student achievement and organizational growth. District leaders noted his experience helping schools overcome significant academic challenges as one of the qualities that made him a strong fit for Hudson’s priorities.
