David Younce
About Company
David Younce draws on more than twenty-five years of experience in large suburban and small rural school districts in the Midwest and Northeast to lead and support other leaders. Currently the Chief Operating Officer for a government contracting company based out of Washington DC, David served for eight years as the Superintendent of the Mill River Unified Union School District in
southwestern Vermont.
David was previously a teacher (six years), middle school assistant principal (three years) and elementary school principal (nine years) in the Indian Prairie School District in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Focused on relationships and clarity of communication and objectives as his priority, David’s experience in equity leadership, proficiency-based learning implementation, complex
district merger and consolidation, leadership coaching and mentoring, and long and short term strategic planning enables him to support and guide leaders, districts, and members of the business environment in the work of making decisions that support students and the broader community.
David served as President and Past President of the Vermont Superintendents Association, has been a member of multiple boards, and was named the 2020-2021 Vermont Superintendent of the Year.
David currently resides in Arlington, VT.
