Gene Sharratt, Ph.D.
Dr. Sharratt is currently the senior research advisor with the Center for Educational Effectiveness. He serves on the boards of Education Northwest, Complete College America and the Washington Higher Education Facilities Authority. Gene is the past executive director of the AESD/OSPI Network was as a member of Governor Inslee’s cabinet, serving as Executive Director of the Washington Student Achievement Council.
Gene served for ten years as a clinical associate professor for Washington State University as director of the state superintendent leadership program. He has 30 years of educational experience as a teacher, secondary school counselor, principal, assistant superintendent, school superintendent, and ESD superintendent in international and public schools. This experience was in Washington, Alaska and Norway.
Dr. Sharratt has over 15 years of executive leadership recruitment with public, private, and non-profit organizations. In addition to executive searches, Gene facilitates strategic planning and program evaluation workshops. His recent work is focused on developing high performance teams, based on the foundation of trust and authentic leadership principles.
