Kris DeFilippis

Driven by his unyielding commitment to providing equitable and imaginative school experiences for students, Kris has served as a teacher, department chairperson, and administrator in both rural and urban districts.  As a Executive Director in the New York City Department of Education, he supports school and district leaders to craft and enact equitable goals and strategic plans through context specific cycles of inquiry.  Kris is a steering committee member for the national iLead network through the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and works with school leaders to activate learning gained from diversity and equity workshops and initiatives into actionable plans to support students and community members.
