Dr. Marcy Roan is based in the Southeast and brings over two decades of senior leadership experience in public education. She has served in urban and rural Title I schools. Dr. Roan has extensive expertise in executive leadership, instructional improvement, and districtwide strategic initiatives that strengthen teaching and learning. Her work has spanned curriculum and assessment, community engagement, and fiscal oversight, including securing significant federal and state grants to expand career and technical education and innovative instructional programs.
Throughout her career, Dr. Roan has used strategic planning, coaching, and systems thinking to accelerate school improvement. She has led instructional rounds with principals and district leaders, developed structures to recruit and retain high-quality staff, and implemented processes that improved student achievement and school performance outcomes. She emphasizes data-driven decision-making, leadership capacity-building, and collaborative partnerships with educators, families, and community stakeholders. Her approach is rooted in continuous improvement, collective efficacy, and aligning instructional practice to district priorities. She is the author of Instructional Rounds with Teachers: Building Reflective Practitioners and has an upcoming book on implementing instructional rounds at the district level.
Dr. Roan will provide consulting services in executive search, strategic planning, and leadership development aligned to each district’s goals. Her areas of focus include executive coaching, student data analysis for academic growth, and strengthening personnel and operational systems.
