Melissa Kaczkowski, Ed.D., has worked in education for over 35 years. Her career spans experience as a teacher, school administrator, district level administrator and superintendent. Dr. Kaczkowski is a Nationally Certified Superintendent through the Association of School Administrators (AASA). At the district level, she accomplished school turnaround in both academics, finance and climate/culture. Dr. Kaczkowski’s career has been strongly anchored by her experiences in special education. As a leader, Dr. Kaczkowski has been driven by her firm belief in inclusion and high-quality specialized instruction for all students.
Dr. Kaczkowski has been part of numerous state and national initiatives such Women in Leadership, Transformational Leadership and most recently, AASA’s Learning 2025. These experiences have allowed Dr. Kaczkowski to develop facilitation skills in the areas of: actionable strategic planning, Board governance, special education program review, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support program review, and teacher leadership to name a few. Dr. Kaczkowski has served as a mentor to early career superintendents, aspiring superintendents as well as women aspiring to leadership roles other than the superintendency.
Dr. Kaczkowski has firsthand, successful experience with referenda and designing and implementing the processes involved in working with the Board from inception to election to project completion.
