Vicki King, Esq.

Vicki King holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of law, and has over 20 years experience in school leadership.  She currently serves as a Faculty Member of The Honor Foundation in San Diego, was a member of California School Boards Association and is an Associate and Executive Coach with HYA. Prior to these roles, she was a Governing Board Member, Executive Coach and Consultant, small business owner, and practicing attorney.

Vicki served as a Governing Board Member for 17 years, has her Masters in Governance, and served 3 terms as Board President and Vice President.  During her service on the Board,  she was active in multiple committees, including District English Learner Advisory Committee, Wellness Committee, Legislative Action Committee, Consortium for Special Education, and Coalition for Drug Free Youth.  In addition, Vicki participated in strategic planning, and has advocated for education at local, state and national levels, including a trip to Washington D.C and the White House.  Her recent consulting engagements have focused on professional development, teaching, leadership development, strategic thinking and communications, skill building, and governance.   

During her tenure on the School Board, Vicki participated in 3 superintendent searches, worked with 4 Superintendents, led Board Governance Workshops, streamlined and conducted superintendent evaluations, and participated in strategic planning and equity training.  She has years of experience in board governance, setting strategic vision, policy development, strategic planning, effective communication,  and relationship building.
