Job Description

Skokie School District 73.5 is seeking an accomplished, equity-focused leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2025. Located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, the district serves approximately 1,100 students from Preschool through 8th grade. The district’s three school buildings are located within a 1.5-mile radius of each other, and students graduate to the highly regarded Niles Township High Schools District 219.

District 73.5 operates under a 5-year Strategic Plan with the following key priorities: 

• Welcoming Environment: Ensuring that all students, staff, parents, and community members feel welcomed and valued in the District. 
• Hiring and Retention: Reflecting the community’s diversity in our staff and creating systems that support staff retention. 
• Instruction: Accelerating learning for all students through a strengths-based approach, helping each student grow from their starting point. 

The search is confidential, and we are seeking candidates who have demonstrated success as instructional leaders, possess strong managerial and communication skills, and have the ability to serve as a visible, collaborative partner with all stakeholders. The district’s size allows the superintendent to build deep relationships with staff, students, and the broader community. Previous experience as a superintendent or central office administrator is highly preferred.
