Job Description

The Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga (TST) Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) Board of Education is seeking an experienced educational leader with a distinguished track record to serve as the District Superintendent of the TST BOCES. The District Superintendent serves as the liaison of the New York State Education Department to nine districts within the Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga BOCES, as well as, the Chief Operating Officer of the BOCES. The ideal candidate will boast an exemplary service history highlighted by the following characteristics:

• Impeccable integrity and moral character
• Educational advocate at the local, state and federal levels
• Well-versed in New York State’s P-20 educational systems
• Highly effective communicator
• A successful educator with a range of experiences from the classroom to leadership
• A visionary thinker and collaborator with a strong ability to consistently evaluate, anticipate needs and be strategic, innovative and forward thinking.
• Firm grasp of the operational and finance aspects of BOCES and New York State, including knowledge of how to be cost effective and efficient while being a responsible steward of
limited taxpayer dollars
• The ability to work collaboratively and strategically with the Board of Education and administration to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders
• The ability to foster great working partnerships with each of our component districts
