New Strategic Plan Charts Course for Petersburg Public Schools

Petersburg Public Schools has unveiled Petersburg Forward 2031, a comprehensive strategic plan designed to guide the division’s work over the next five years. Developed through extensive engagement with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders, the plan focuses on five key priorities: student achievement and wellness, talent recruitment and retention, operational excellence, fiscal stewardship, and family and community engagement.

Petersburg Public Schools partnered with HYA throughout the strategic planning process to help facilitate stakeholder engagement, identify priorities, and develop a roadmap for the future. HYA Associates Laurie Kimbrel lead the team with Monica Brown, and Natalie Halloran worked closely with district leaders and the community to support the development of the plan. The resulting framework establishes a clear vision, mission, and set of core beliefs that will guide the division’s efforts through 2031.
