Mr. Raúl Guerrero Appointed as the Superintendent of Roseland Public Schools in Santa Rosa, California

At a meeting on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, the Roseland School District Board of Trustees and the Roseland Charter Board of Directors appointed Mr. Raúl Guerrero as the Superintendent of Roseland Public Schools in Santa Rosa, California. Mr. Guerrero will formally assume the position on July 1, 2023. Roseland serves about 1,500 students at its seven schools.

With over 30 years in education, Mr. Guerrero is ready to bring his wealth of knowledge to the district. “I am honored to take this new role. I plan to get acquainted with the Roseland Public Schools community and work towards providing the best learning opportunities for our students”, Mr. Guerrero remarked. Raúl Guerrero has experience as a master teacher, assistant principal, and high school principal and has extensive training in innovative curriculum, learning communities, positive behavior supports, and parent engagement.* Mr. Guerrero also has ties to the community outside the school district, participating in community task forces and committees.

In a letter to the Roseland community, the Board commended the commitment and passion of their new leader and acknowledged that Mr. Guerrero has prospered in districts that have worked to prepare students for college and career readiness.

Roseland School District utilized the expertise of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) in their search for a new Superintendent. HYA Associate Dr. Valerie Pitts commended the board on their commitment to an inclusive process saying, “RSD board members gave 100% to aligning their vision and values with that of the staff and community to ensure the superintendent was the best fit for the district. The district will thrive with Mr. Guerrero”.
