The founders of the JCGCS have a fierce loyalty to the city they call home and strongly believe that all Jersey City parents and children should have good access to a free and rigorous academic education.
The Jersey City Global Charter School serves 433 students and serves grades K-8.
The mission of the Jersey City Global Charter School is to provide students with the skills and exploratory experiences that enable them to reach their fullest potential as independent thinkers and innovative problem solvers. By providing a diversified, comprehensive curriculum that encompasses social and economic entrepreneurship, social justice, equality, ecological sustainability as well as peace and harmony between people, we seek to address the unique needs of the students in a changing society.

01 A rigorous academic core curriculum aligned to the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and Core Content Standards.
02 An instructional delivery system that includes differentiated instruction, student empowerment, teaming, and learning centers supplemented with classroom-based technology.
03 Supporting entrepreneurial endeavors integrated into the curriculum.
04 Providing learning opportunities that are embedded in meeting the needs of real-life situations.
05 Supporting a high level of parental and community involvement.
06 Integration of a web-based student information system that allows parents to communicate with the school and track their child’s progress.
07 Implementing a decentralization of services and shared decision making by all professionals within the school.
The JCGCS Board of Trustees seeks an innovative educational leader who ensures an excellent educational experience for every student. The successful applicant must have demonstrated exemplary educational leadership experience in a diverse school community with similar strengths, demographics, and challenges.
Candidates must have or be immediately eligible for a New Jersey School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility.
