The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District (MRH) is seeking a superintendent who will personify their mission “to inspire and prepare students as leaders, scholars, stewards, and citizens for a diverse and changing world.” Additionally, the new superintendent must have recent and relevant experience successfully addressing equity gaps, be an outstanding communicator, a readily accessible presence in schools and community, and demonstrate a mindset and record of continuous improvement and innovation.
MRH values highly qualified teachers, personalized attention, academic rigor, technology for 21st century learning, diversity, and outstanding facilities. Having these has been critical to their progress, but at the heart of successful improvement is the strong tie MRH has with the community. Their partnership with both cities, its residents, and local businesses is exemplary as evidenced by 81.7% voter approval of a $30 million dollar facility bond in June 2020.
Tracing its beginnings to 1840, the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is the oldest district in St. Louis County. Just more than two square miles in size and serving portions of the Cities of Maplewood and Richmond Heights, MRH serves nearly 1500 PK-12 students in four schools and the Early Childhood Center.
MRH is fully accredited by the State of Missouri, having earned the “Annual Distinction in Performance Award” numerous times. Annual Performance Report (APR) scores from MO Department of Elementary & Secondary Education have exceeded 95% since 2015. Moreover, 18% of the district’s exceptionally talented teachers are National Board Certified.
Applications are being accepted now through November 14, 2020 with interviews tentatively scheduled for December, 2020.
Applicants will need to submit the following items via email to John Perdue, firstname.lastname@example.org, with MRH SEARCH in the subject line.
