David Younce draws on more than twenty-five years of experience in large suburban and small rural school districts in the Midwest and northeast to lead and support other leaders. Beginning his eighth year as superintendent of the Mill River Unified Union School District in southwestern Vermont, David also served previously as a teacher, assistant principal and principal (nine years) in the Indian Prairie School District in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Focused on relationships as the priority, David’s experience in equity leadership, proficiency-based learning implementation, complex district merger and consolidation, leadership coaching and mentoring, and long and short term strategic planning assist him in supporting and guiding other leaders and districts in the work of supporting students and communities.
David currently serves as the President of the Vermont Superintendents Association and was named as the 2020-2021 Vermont Superintendent of the Year.
