HYA is excited to announce that Dr. David Grambow will be joining the School District of Somerset as the new Superintendent, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Grambow’s appointment follows an extensive and fast-paced search process, led by HYA, which helped the district make an informed and timely decision.
Following a resignation notice in March 2025, Somerset faced a tight deadline for finding the right leader for their school system. The district turned to HYA in early April, and within a week, HYA’s Senior Consultant Mike Richie and his team were already in action. The team’s swift responsiveness, professionalism, and efficient approach stood out immediately and ensured that Somerset’s needs were met in a compressed timeline.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. David Grambow as our new Superintendent,” said Board President Matt Foucault. “His wealth of experience in educational leadership, particularly in his role as Assistant Superintendent for Hudson Schools, positions him well to lead Somerset. We are confident that under his leadership, we will continue to build on the great work already underway in our district.”
Dr. Grambow brings over 25 years of experience in education. He has held a range of roles, from General and Special Education Teacher to Elementary Principal, Associate Director of Learning Services, and System Improvement Director. His leadership experience culminated in his appointment as Assistant Superintendent in Hudson in 2014. He also serves as an instructor at the University of St. Thomas, teaching leadership courses for both master’s and doctoral students.
“I am thrilled about the opportunity to serve Somerset as its next Superintendent,” said Dr. Grambow. “I look forward to working with the school district staff and engaging with the community as we continue to build on the strong foundation already in place.”
Dr. Grambow holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas and has authored a book on educational leadership. His commitment to the success of all students and his proactive approach to educational leadership make him an ideal fit for Somerset.
The search process was thoroughly supported by HYA’s commitment to transparency and community engagement. HYA’s team organized a comprehensive series of focus groups with district staff, families, and community members to gather valuable feedback. This feedback was then made available to the school board through a digital portal, ensuring that the board had access to timely, meaningful insights throughout the process. This commitment to stakeholder engagement was one of the key factors in the district’s decision to partner with HYA.
