Southern University and A&M College Academy for Current and Aspiring Superintendents

Academy Information

The superintendent program is a 10 session program.

Southern University and A&M College, in collaboration with HYA, designed this leadership academy to bolster K-12 Educational Leadership. This program is tailored to enhance the representation of Black, Hispanic, women, and other underrepresented groups in leadership positions within U.S. public schools. This initiative marks a significant step forward in our commitment to nurturing exemplary leadership in education.

This program is a certificated program through Southern University and A&M College. Individuals will receive a certificate from Southern University and A&M College upon completion of each program.

This program includes an executive coach for each participant. The participant’s coach is part of the structure and goals of the program to enhance skills, set goals, prepare for career advancement, and improve personal and organizational performance.

First and last meeting dates are on-site at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA.

$6,000.00

Curriculum:

Alignment to PSEL standards and researched backed best practice.

Certification and graduate level credits will be given to participants.

Academy Leaders

Dr. Shawn Joseph

Dr. Shawn Joseph’s passion for education has led him to serve in a number of roles in the world of education. Currently, he is an assistant professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Howard University, and he is a senior associate at Hazard, Young, Attea, and Associates.

Dr. Traci Davis

Traci Davis has a distinguished career as an educator; she has worked in a variety of schools ranging from at-promise to affluent, high-achieving to in need of improvement, and has helped transform learning environments in elementary-, middle- and high schools.
