MVSEC is seeking a visionary Executive Director to guide our cooperative in delivering exceptional, equitable special education services. This highly visible role demands a leader with strategic vision, deep expertise in special education, and a passion for student success. The successful candidate will be in place for the 2026-2027 school year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and operations for MVSEC.
  • Ensure compliance with special education laws.
  • Build strong partnerships with districts, staff, families, and the community.
  • Oversee innovative programs driven by data and best practices.
  • Manage budgets and resources with transparency and efficiency.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain exceptional staff.
  • Advocate for students at local, state, and national levels.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educator License
  • General Administrative & Director of Special Education Endorsements
  • Proven leadership in special education teaching and/or administration
  • Expertise in compliance, instructional leadership, and fiscal management
  • A collaborative, ethical, and student-centered approach

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: Minimum of $170,000
