QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS:

• New York State certification as SDA or SDL
• Have at least three years of successful experience as an administrator
• Five years of successful teaching at the secondary level
• Have a strong vision of exemplary secondary education.
• Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes.
• Display a rich, substantive, research-based knowledge both of academic subject matter and of pedagogy.
• Strong track record in staff development and technology integration
• Five years of successful teaching at the secondary level
• Passion for the work and a willingness to embrace challenges along with a high level of problem-solving energy.
• Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Asst. Supt for Curriculum & Instruction and in collaboration with the principals and the Director of Elementary Teaching, Learning and Assessment Pre-K-6 will:
• Work to improve instructional practice and increase student outcomes.
• Have primary responsibility of guiding the 7-12 instructional program, instructional priorities, and curriculum development.
• Assist building administrators with the planning and implementation of extended day and summer programing.
• Build capacity in areas of instructional leadership, data analysis and accountability.
