Job Description
Minocqua, WI
The Minocqua J1 School District is seeking a superintendent beginning on July 1, 2025, with a base salary range expected to be $150,000 to $165,000 (based on experience); other benefits to be negotiated.
The Minocqua J1 School District encompasses 320 square miles in Oneida County and is considered part of “The Northwoods” of North Central Wisconsin. Our school district is spread across the following townships: Cassian, Minocqua, Hazelhurst, and Lake Tomahawk. A majority of the land in the district is described as rural recreation and this area is definitely known for being a four season destination. The tourism industry is the major source of revenue for the local economy. The numerous lakes and the abundance of recreational activities, as well as superb hospitality services, bring travelers to our community all year long. Outside of the tourism industry, the largest employers include community health care, public schools, lumber manufacturing, and local retail stores. The combined population of our communities is approximately 9000, but during the summertime, it quadruples. A large number of retirees select this area for the quality of life it offers. Minocqua J1 School District is one of four 4K-8 elementary districts that feeds into Lakeland Union High School. Each district is administered by its own Administration and own Board of Education. Minocqua J1 is the largest in terms of both enrollment and geographic size.
The Minocqua J1 School District is a 4K-8 School District that is made up of two schools: MHLT Elementary School, and Lakeland STAR School, and has a student enrollment of approximately 520 with a student-teacher ratio of 17:1.
